Once you’ve got something you like, try shifting it out of your normal speech pitch pattern by using steps (one note up or down), skips (a third up or down) or a leap (a fourth or more) between words.

As you probably already know by now, Logic Pro offers dozens of electronic and organic percussion instrument options, but songwriters and producers working with this DAW often struggle to keep their drum parts from sounding lifeless and conventional, without strategies to put life back into these out-of-the-box samples. Logic has a dynamic range of percussion instrumentation available, but the samples are still essentially blank sonic canvases on which the producer needs to paint.

This is obviously a matter of little importance, since the notes which form the mode are the same, the only difference would be which scale we decide to compare it to.

It’s a great time to be a musician! With all the tools available these days, there’s a ton of ways to publicize and sell music online. Here’s just a few.

In 20th and 21st century music there is a lot of imagination and experimentation, and strong interest in spirituality in general. But there isn’t much of this kind of intimate interweaving of specific sounds with concrete theological symbols. Composers like James MacMillan are exploring this sort of theology-based musical practice, as one writer describes his work, “giving the symbols and signs of Christianity their own flesh-and-blood physicality.” Others like Arvo Pärt use related methods in a broader sense. And surely there are other creative musicians working in this vein today.

With all of Logic’s inredible instruments, producers often rely on the sound of the samples right out of the box, here’s how to make them more interesting.

The first chord is a D major chord (D, F♯, and A), which makes the I (tonic) chord. The second chord consists of the notes C♯, E, and A, which make up an A major chord — also known as the V chord in this context because it starts on the fifth note of the D major scale. The third chord is a G major chord (D, B, and G), which is the IV chord because it starts on the fouth note of the D major scale.

It can be used across so many genres of music, shown below on Oskar Offermann’s track, “Find Yourself.” He uses the Space Echo on the vocals and it seems to also be used on a lot of the percussion.
